Turtles in May

May was the month of turtle sightings here in the South. There wasn't a day I hadn't seen turtles around my running trails sunbathing, swimming, or laying eggs. Due to the abundance of their presence, I began photographing them and researching our local species. I definitely need to look further into this to be able to identify them correctly, but without a doubt, most of the pics show the Eastern Snapping turtle. 

Look at these amazing creatures. Creepy and wonderful! I am curious how old some of these are!
