Dear Wife

From the bestselling author of The Marriage Lie and Three Days Missing comes a riveting new novel of suspense about a woman who, in a fight for survival, must decide just how far she'll go to escape the person she once loved

Beth Murphy is on the run...

For nearly a year, Beth has been planning for this day. A day some people might call any other Wednesday, but Beth prefers to see it as her new beginning--one with a new look, new name and new city. Beth has given her plan significant thought, because one small slip and her violent husband will find her.

Sabine Hardison is missing...

A couple hundred miles away, Jeffrey returns home from a work trip to find his wife, Sabine, is missing. Wherever she is, she's taken almost nothing with her. Her abandoned car is the only evidence the police have, and all signs point to foul play.

As the police search for leads, the case becomes more and more convoluted. Sabine's carefully laid plans for her future indicate trouble at home, and a husband who would be better off with her gone. The detective on the case will stop at nothing to find out what happened and bring this missing woman home. Where is Sabine? And who is Beth? The only thing that's certain is that someone is lying and the truth won't stay buried for long.

My Review

This wife is my hero (even if in a fiction novel)!
Glad to have found a book that turns victim to victor 🙌.

One path, two women, intertwined in a missing person's case.

Beth: A stash of cash, a stolen car and a horizon of hope to outrun her violent husband. She hires a guy to leave a trail all over the states with her debit card. She is doing what she always preaches and has helped others do. Get out of an abusive marriage, run and hide.
In a new town with a new ID, she finds shelter in a church where others with baggage similar to hers find reprieve and a job to make a living. On the borderline side of illegal activities, Beth doesn't fully trust this new life and friends yet but finds hope in the most unlikely of persons.
Will a scandal at church uncover her real identity and blow her cover? Will she be picked up for committing a crime that may have been a trap set by someone at the church?
One thing is certain, she isn't all clean and has made some mistakes. When she sees the news of a friend's disappearance on the news, she knows her husband is coming for her. HE KNOWS!

Sabine: It's not going well. She is scared and wants out of her marriage. She's done something...and the dirty laundry will come forth, no doubt.
With a messy closet and the car gone, her husband reports her missing after the obligatory 24hrs of wait time.
Sabine's sister, Ingrid is her confidant...she knows, and a whole lot more then Jeffrey, her husband has ever known about his wife. To the detective, Ingrid is the credible one and her husband the guilty crook.

An investigation into Sabine's disappearance shines light onto a dark secret life she leads. Sometimes leaving the husband is the hardest thing you have to do, but then, perhaps she paid the price.

The Missing person's case turns into a murder. In the first-person view, this edgy suspense novel is told switching between the main characters of this novel. The clues lie in the things unsaid! The best way to solve a mystery, I think.

With a myriad of impressions, the reader is left to sort out the entanglement that commences to the best ending possible in my opinion. With my breath held to follow the developments unfold, I was glued to find out the end of it all and who will come out unscathed.

As it is with any good mystery thriller, the end proves twisted in the best of ways and I loved it!

PS. I won this novel in a giveaway from 'Stephanie's Novel Fiction'
